As the leading certifying agency for imaging professionals, the Professional Photographic Certification Commission's Certified Professional Photographer and Certified Evidence Photographer designations are recognized throughout the photographic industry. Those who have earned these certifications have passed a comprehensive written exam measuring their technical expertise, have successfully submitted their work to a panel of judges for review and approval, and adbide by a professional code of ethics. A photographer must re-certify through the Professional Photographic Certification Commission to show that they are maintaining a high level of technical and artistic competency, assuring that their clients' expectation of the standards of excellence are consistently being met.

Certified Professional Photographer Spotlight

David Grupa, M.Photog.Cr., CPP

The words alone - Certified Professional Photographer - separate me from the rest of the crowd without the need for clarification or explanation. I became Certified before the requirement was in place to obtain my degree; I simply wanted the credential that told potential clients (and colleagues) that I cared enough about my craft and was confident enough in my abilities to submit to the testing. Potential clients are not just going to show up at your door because you've added 3 letters after your name, but it will make them take a second look at you. I have had clients tell me that they chose me specifically because of my Certified status; they want their photographs done right the first time and don't have time to price-shop all the weekend warriors.
